The eyelets of this design, called Adelaide, through which the shoelaces pass are designed to resemble the shape of a lyre harp sound hole.
Because of its unique design, it is preferred by those looking for a slightly distinctive design. In the sample product, the lyre harp part is created by stitching only, but the look is hugely enhanced when a brogue is used, or cut back with leather of a different color or material, creating a sense of individuality.
